Published by Japan's CAPCOM company, the model series "CAPCOM FIGURE BUILDER CUBE", based on their popular video game "Monster Hunter", recently announced the latest product, "Magnamalo (Enraged State)", scheduled for release on June 13, 2024.
The new monster Magnamalo, appearing in "Monster Hunter Rise", combines the imagery of Japanese yokai such as the Nue and undead samurai. Its entire body is covered in hard carapace, resembling majestic samurai armor, and its tail is like a jumonji yari (cross-shaped spear). Though seemingly heavy, it is incredibly agile, capable of leaping high to snatch even flying monsters. Its brutal nature allows it to devour prey down to the bone. Various parts of its body emit purple gas known as "Hellfire", giving it the appearance of a vengeful undead samurai. When enraged, it unleashes fierce attacks with its agile tail.
The new product "CAPCOM FIGURE BUILDER CUBE MONSTER HUNTER" can be considered an advanced version of Capcom's CFB blind box series "Monster Hunter Standard Model Plus". It boasts a more substantial average size, and 3D digital sculptor Keita Okada has been invited to sculpt various popular monsters from "Monster Hunter", allowing for highly biological designs to be presented within a size of approximately 10 cm in height and width. Currently, each product is uniformly priced at 2,970 JPY (tax included), which is quite affordable.
This release, the "CFB CUBE Magnamalo (Enraged State)", is sculpted by prototype artist Keita Okada, depicting the enraged state with its back carapace raised and the tip of its tail expanded into a jumonji yari shape. The ferocious facial features, robust physique, thick carapace, cool blade-like horns, spear-blade tail, and arm blades are all meticulously detailed. Additionally, rich color applications are used to express the purplish-red gradient of its body and the highly biological yellowish hue of its entire carapace.
