Published by Japan's CAPCOM company, the model series themed after their popular video game 'Monster Hunter', 'CAPCOM FIGURE BUILDER CUBE' recently announced that its latest product, 'Mizutsune', is scheduled for release on June 13, 2024.
The new product, 'CAPCOM FIGURE BUILDER CUBE MONSTER HUNTER', can be considered an advanced version of Capcom's CFB blind box series 'Monster Hunter Standard Model Plus'. It boasts a more substantial average size, and 3D digital sculptor Keita Okada has been invited to sculpt various popular monsters from 'Monster Hunter', allowing for highly lifelike sculpts within a size of approximately 10 cm in height and width. Currently, each product is uniformly priced at 2,970 JPY (tax included), which is quite affordable.
The Mizutsune, released this time, is a large Leviathan-type monster with dazzling colors. Its appearance, resembling flower petals, seems beautiful but harbors deep threats. It can secrete a special fluid, like soapy water, that makes one's feet incredibly slippery. After friction with the dense fur extending from its abdomen to its tail, it can produce a large amount of foam, not only allowing itself to slide rapidly across the ground but also depriving prey of their freedom, sending them to 'heaven' in a dreamlike bubble bath. Furthermore, Mizutsune can also shoot powerful jets of water from its mouth to repel enemies.
The 'CFB CUBE Mizutsune' is sculpted by prototype artist Keita Okada, capturing a dynamic pose of sliding and leaping on a slippery surface. The intricate scale patterns across its body, the dense fur on its abdomen and tail, and the cherry blossom-like fins on its head and back are all meticulously sculpted. The entire body is also adorned with brilliant color applications, highlighting the facial colors and the irregular pink gradient of the fins, as well as the glossy, wet-looking purple fur on the abdomen and tail, faithfully recreating its slippery combat style from the game.
