CAPCOM Co., Ltd. of Japan recently announced the latest product in its popular video game 'Monster Hunter' themed figure series, 'CAPCOM FIGURE BUILDER CUBE,' featuring 'Crimson Glow Valstrax,' scheduled for release on June 13, 2024.
Valstrax is an Elder Dragon species that inhabits ultra-high-altitude regions isolated from other creatures. For a long time, its existence was only recorded in ancient texts, and it was only confirmed in recent years with the development of aviation technology. Valstrax possesses massive wings and superior flight capabilities that allow it to break the sound barrier. It also releases red Dragon-elemental energy, known as "Dragonblight," and its flying form resembles a red comet, considered an ominous sign, earning it the moniker "Silverwing of the Azure Star." The variant appearing in "Monster Hunter Rise," "Crimson Glow Valstrax," enters a rampaging state due to its own excessive Dragonblight, launching fierce attacks on all targets in its sight.
The new product, 'CAPCOM FIGURE BUILDER CUBE MONSTER HUNTER,' can be considered an advanced version of Capcom's CFB blind box series "Monster Hunter Standard Model Plus." It features a more substantial average size, and 3D digital sculptor Keita Okada has been invited to sculpt various popular monsters from "Monster Hunter," presenting highly organic and lifelike forms within dimensions of approximately 10 cm in height and width. Currently, each product is uniformly priced at 2,970 JPY (tax included), which is quite affordable.
This 'CFB CUBE Crimson Glow Valstrax' is sculpted by prototype artist Keita Okada, capturing its pose with spear-like wings spread, ready to thrust. The intricate sculpting expresses Valstrax's ferocious expression, powerful foreclaws, and magnificent yet deadly wings. Through color application, its silver-white body and red-glowing wings, infused with Dragonblight, are recreated, bringing to life its more ferocious appearance compared to its standard counterpart in the game.
