If you were to ask who is the most popular superhero under the Marvel banner, who comes to mind? I think the one who firmly holds this top spot, besides that friendly neighborhood hero everyone knows so well, is likely no other. That's right! Let's give another round of thunderous applause to welcome Marvel's most successful and popular hero—"Spi-der-Man"!
Born in 1962, Spider-Man was co-created by the late Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, making his debut in the 15th issue of the Marvel magazine "Amazing Fantasy" (formerly Amazing Adult Fantasy). After more than sixty years of evolution, he has spawned a rich and diverse history with a vast number of charismatic characters. From comics, animations, games, TV series, to films, the footprints of Peter Parker are almost everywhere. The image of him swinging between skyscrapers, one hand on a web-line, is deeply ingrained in our minds. His signature web-shooting gesture has practically become another shared generational language. It's no exaggeration to call him Marvel's most approachable superhero, and this is precisely the unique charm of Spider-Man that people love to talk about!
With such a wildly popular superhero, how can toy collectors miss out on fun and cool action figures? This is where the "Marvel Legends" series, launched by the renowned American toy manufacturer Hasbro, becomes the most loyal companion for Marvel fans! Inheriting the excellent design from the Toy Biz era, Marvel Legends has undergone a decade of evolution and refinement. Adopting a 1/12 scale (6-inch) size with highly articulated joints all over the body, and with the widespread use of printing technology in recent years, the presentation of head sculpts has reached a new level. It can be described as a golden combination of sculpting, articulation, and accuracy. This time, let's unbox the brand-new Spider-Man retro carded set together, as well as the highly anticipated movie version of Doctor Octopus!
▼Here are the stars of today's unboxing, including a set of six retro carded figures and the deluxe boxed movie version of Doctor Octopus!

▼"Scarlet Spider", who first appeared in 1994 in issue #52 of the comic "Spider-Man". Scarlet Spider's real name is Ben Reilly, the most successful and stable clone of Peter Parker created by the scientist Jackal. He not only possesses Peter's unique abilities but was also imbued with all of the original's memories. After realizing he was not the original, he accepted the fact and continued to be active on the streets under the dual identities of Ben Reilly and Scarlet Spider.

▼This figure uses the well-received new body mold for a remake, hiding the pins at the elbows and knees. Not only does it restore the classic hoodie look, but its overall articulation, combined with three pairs of interchangeable hands, definitely makes it one of the top must-have masterpieces.

▼The highly accurate sculpt and super-articulated joints—this combination is the very essence of what makes the Marvel Legends series so beloved by collectors!

▼All sorts of signature low-crouching and crawling poses can be perfectly achieved.

▼Dynamic swinging poses are also easily accomplished. Not only is he cool, but he's also incredibly fun to pose. The charm of Marvel Legends is on full display with this figure!

▼"Spider-Shot", the Peter Parker from the parallel universe Earth-8351, is based on the 2008 comic "What If? Spider-Man Vs. Wolverine". Also known as Assassin Spider-Man, he was invited by Superior Spider-Man to join his army to fight against greater threats alongside other Spider-Men.

▼The color scheme uses a more subdued combination of dark red and black, presenting a sense of maturity different from previous versions. The body also uses the pinless mold, which is a visual treat.

▼The biggest difference from other Spider-Man versions is the inclusion of these gun-pointing hands, which also have slots to attach shooting effect parts.

▼Look closely, this man is seriously fierce and ruthless!

▼"Hallows' Eve", based on the 2022 comic "Amazing Spider-Man" Vol. 6 #14. Her real name is Elizabeth Tyn, but she is better known by her other identity: Janine Godbe. Janine and Ben Reilly are lovers. With the help of the Goblin Queen (Madelyne Pryor, a clone of Jean Grey), she magically transformed into Hallows' Eve, able to create various masks and utilize their different fantastical abilities.

▼Compared to other characters, Hallows' Eve is a relatively new addition, with a strong Halloween-themed visual style. She comes with two magic masks that she can hold.
▼She includes both a demon and a vampire mask, which cannot be worn.

▼Her body also utilizes the new female mold, featuring beautiful pinless double joints at the elbows and knees!

▼Collectors who have the previously released Chasm (the vengeful Ben Reilly) must get Hallows' Eve to complete the pair!

▼"Jack O'Lantern", who first appeared in 1980 in issue #19 of the comic "Machine Man", is a notorious super-criminal in New York, an identity used by many characters. This retro carded figure is based on his early classic look, recreating the flaming pumpkin helmet and his uniquely shaped disc-glider.

▼The head sculpt uses translucent parts to recreate the gorgeous flame effect. The new body mold, combined with scale details and metallic paint, is also very well done.

▼The realistic scale pattern is even recreated using printing, full of detail.

▼The included bomb can not only be held, but the designer also thoughtfully designed a peg on his waist so it can be securely hung.

▼The part underneath the glider can be detached, allowing it to be displayed with your own stand. This is a thoughtful design that combines both aesthetics and playability. (Note: This figure does not include a stand).

▼Give him a stand and let this pumpkin fly! (Note: This figure does not include a stand).

▼A Halloween essential! Everyone should grab one now and have it ready.

▼"Last Stand Spider-Man", the Peter from the parallel universe Earth-312500, first appeared in 2003 in "Amazing Spider-Man" Vol. 2 #58. In this possible future timeline, Spider-Man kills Kraven the Hunter for revenge, and later kills Doctor Octopus by impaling him with his own tentacles, setting himself on a dark path of hiding in the shadows.

▼Unlike Spider-Man's usual signature tights (Tony: Underoos!), this version of Peter wears a colder leather jacket, reflecting his past and the darkness within him.

▼Because the body mold is covered by the leather jacket piece, the torso articulation is somewhat limited.

▼The figure only comes with two pairs of hands: fists and open palms.

▼Regardless, this design has a unique charm and is indispensable for building a Spider-Army!

▼"Tombstone", who first appeared in 1987 in "Web of Spider-Man" #36. His real name is Alonzo Lincoln, a mobster who has had albinism since childhood. After being exposed to the chemical Diox-3, his skin became a terrifying armor resistant to blades, electricity, and high temperatures. This made him one of Kingpin's super-criminals, causing major headaches for Spider-Man.

▼This figure's design is based on his animated appearance and shows a significant improvement over the version from six years ago.

▼In addition to a crowbar, he comes with two head sculpts, recreating his albino features like white skin and red eyes.

▼The snarling, teeth-gritting expression is also fantastic and worth collecting!

▼The suit body is also the new pinless version, providing a clean look.

▼Hurry and get one to help Kingpin expand his empire!

▼"Doc Ock", real name Otto Octavius. A failed nuclear fusion experiment led to the death of his wife, and with the inhibitor chip destroyed, he was mentally controlled by the AI of the mechanical arms he personally developed, becoming a new enemy for New York and Spider-Man to face. At first glance, this figure seems to be released for 2021's "Spider-Man: No Way Home", but it is actually based on the 2004 live-action sequel. It highly restores the four impressive mechanical arms from the movie using bendy wires encased in plastic.

▼Different parts are used to recreate the classic double-layered coat look from the movie (was he that cold?). The incredibly articulated and lifelike tentacles are the soul of the figure!

▼The ring-by-ring details on the tentacles themselves are also finely sculpted, and of course, the torn holes in the jacket where they emerge from his back are not forgotten.

▼The head sculpt recreates the features of actor Alfred Molina. Although the sunglasses are not removable, you can still vaguely see his eyes beneath the lenses.

▼The claws at the end of the tentacles are also very well-crafted, with three different interchangeable parts included. The first is a pair of steel claws that can open and close.

▼And a pair of non-articulated open claws. If you look closely, you can see that the metallic rust texture is actually applied via printing!

▼Finally, there are two large open claws for supporting him on the ground.

▼The tentacles are truly imposing when fully spread out. The scenes in the movie where Doc Ock struggles with the good and evil within him make it very hard to dislike him.

▼To recreate the movie scenes where he walks directly on his tentacles, the internal wires are extremely stiff this time, so it takes a bit more effort to get the balance right.

▼The single line "Hello, Peter" in the "No Way Home" trailer was enough to send fans into a frenzy, and his performance in the movie was, of course, unforgettable (though everyone probably really wanted to see the Sinister Six). Every toy collector must get one for their Spider-Man display case!

▼That's all for this unboxing of the Marvel Legends Spider-Man series. Here's to our friendliest and best neighbor! See you at the next unboxing!
