Japanese toy company TAKARA TOMY's popular toy series "ZOIDS", to commemorate its 40th anniversary, has partnered with CAPCOM's popular hunting video game "Monster Hunter", which is celebrating its 20th anniversary, to launch the "MONSTER HUNTER × ZOIDS" collaboration project, and will release a limited edition product: "Beast Liger Magoroi"! The suggested retail price is 6,600 Japanese Yen, and it is scheduled for release in July 2024.
The hunters who control Zoids have arrived──In the year 21XX, the gates of the multiverse suddenly opened, and unknown creatures, monsters, and Felynes came to Earth. The "monsters" lost their original habitats, posing a threat to human life, and those responsible for Earth's defense were forced to take countermeasures; on the other hand, the cat-like friendly species "Felynes" were looking for a way to return to their original world. In their world, hunters are skilled at hunting monsters, but in this world without hunters, Earth's technology must be utilized... This is the birth of "ZOIDS dedicated to fighting monsters"!
The first collaborative Zoid in the "MONSTER HUNTER × ZOIDS" project: the "Beast Liger Magoroi", which combines the ZW-25 Beast Liger with Magnamalo. In its lore, ZOIDS researchers re-modified the Beast Liger, developing a new form specifically designed to combat Magnamalo, based on its characteristics. It is equipped with cutting weapons on its front claws and winged tail, and the equipment on its tail can swing for slashing attacks. A gradient paint scheme enhances its appearance, resembling Magnamalo emitting red-purple flames. A rider figure is included, mimicking the stance of a hunter!
