Japanese toy brand BellFine, known for releasing numerous scale figures, is set to launch a 1/7 scale figure of the popular character "Ouki", one of the Six Great Generals of Qin from the hit anime and manga series "Kingdom", in May 2024. The price will be 27,280 JPY.
"Kingdom" (キングダム) is a work written and illustrated by Yasuhisa Hara, which began serialization in Weekly "YOUNG JUMP" in 2006. It was adapted into an anime in 2012, and a live-action film was released in 2019. The story recounts the famous Spring and Autumn Warring States period in China, depicting the conflicts between various states from the perspective of the protagonist "Shin" (historically Li Xin). As of November 2023, the sales of its collected volumes have exceeded 100 million copies. The latest fifth season of the anime is currently airing on various platforms.
Ouki was one of the Six Great Generals during the reign of King Sho of Qin. Due to his elusive and unpredictable fighting style on the battlefield, he earned the moniker "Ghostly Bird of Qin." He was also the fiancé of Kyou (Ying Kyou, King Sho's daughter), another of the Six Great Generals. He was a man of exceptional ability, skilled in both literary and martial arts, and provided much guidance to the protagonist Shin. His end came during a confrontation with the Zhao army invasion; while facing Houken, he was ambushed by Gika's cold arrow and sustained a fatal wound. After entrusting his last words to Moubu, handing over his army to his adjutant Tou, and leaving his war spear to Shin, he finally died peacefully in battle.
This Ouki scale figure by BellFine is crafted in 1/7 scale, standing approximately 31 cm tall. It faithfully recreates Ouki's formidable appearance, including his confident smile and robust physique. He holds his long blade, resting it on his right shoulder. The intricate patterns on his armor, along with battle scars, are meticulously reproduced, as are the muscle tattoos and bulging veins on his arms. The overall craftsmanship is exceptionally refined. The pile of earthen bricks he stands upon perfectly complements the war-themed aesthetic, creating a truly imposing presence.
