The die-cast action figure "MORTAL MIND" series, released by Chinese toy brand CCSTOYS, recently unveiled the developing prototype of its latest product, "Ultimate Dancouga," from "Super Robot Wars 30." The release date is yet to be determined.
In the classic robot anime "Dancouga – Super Beast Machine God," Dr. Hazuki secretly developed four super weapons, the "Beast Machines," to counter the invasion of an alien empire from another dimension, and recruited four young individuals, including Shinobu Fujiwara, from the officer academy to serve as pilots. The four Beast Machines are powerful weapons capable of three-stage transformation: normal mode, beast mode, and robot mode. They can further combine into the giant robot "Dancouga" to unleash maximum combat power, harnessing immeasurable power by sensing the pilots' spiritual energy. Later, in the game "Super Robot Wars 30" released in 2021, a game-original form, "Ultimate Dancouga," was introduced. This form utilizes additional armor to protect the exposed cockpits and adds large wings and thrusters, significantly enhancing attack, defense, combination time, and cruising range, while also reducing the burden on the pilots.
Although "MORTAL MIND Ultimate Dancouga" has not yet showcased its weapon accessories like the Dancouken (Dancou Sword), its imposing massive body alone is captivating enough. The overall design extends the limb proportions based on Masami Obari's settings, combining a heavy armored appearance with a balanced physique reminiscent of a muscular human. The relief sculpture on the chest armor is also meticulously recreated. However, considering the overall weight of the armor and the strength of the joints, the four-machine combination mechanism might involve some compromises.
