The alloy action figure series "MORTAL MIND", released by Chinese toy brand CCSTOYS, recently unveiled the latest developing prototype for its newest product, "EVA Final Model", from "Neon Genesis Evangelion ANIMA", with a release date yet to be determined.
"Neon Genesis Evangelion ANIMA" is an official spin-off novel created by Takuma Kageyama and Ikuto Yamashita. It depicts an 'if' storyline three years after the 'Human Instrumentality Project' was not activated, diverging from the end of TV series "Neon Genesis Evangelion" Episode 24. Many original settings were significantly altered, with 17-year-old Shinji Ikari, Asuka, and Rei Ayanami continuing to pilot new EVA units to prevent the 'Human Instrumentality Project' from being reactivated. Among them, Shinji Ikari pilots the new unit, "EVA Final Model", with the name 'Final' embodying Misato's wish that 'no more EVAs need to be produced'. The Final Model incorporates mysterious technology unconfirmed by NERV JPN, possessing performance that surpasses S-EVA units. Its most prominent feature is the 'Wings of Light' that can deploy from its back for high-speed flight, and it wields the large Japanese sword-type weapon 'Bizen Osafune'.
Compared to the original's more human-like streamlined silhouette, the "MORTAL MIND EVA Final Model" features richer, sharper lines, armor segmentation, and layering, giving it a more mechanical aesthetic. This exhibition also marks the first public display of its extensive weapon accessories, including the Bizen Osafune, Sanroku Annihilation Blade, Lucretius's Spear, and other powerful large weapons. However, the 'Wings of Light' effect, a characteristic feature of the unit, has not yet been revealed.
