Japanese gashapon toy manufacturer TOYS CABIN Co., Ltd. (株式会社トイズキャビン) announced yesterday (25th) their latest product from Ryoko Kui's "Dungeon Meshi" manga: "Dungeon Meshi Food Collection" (ダンジョン飯の飯コレクション)! There are 6 types to collect, scheduled for release in May 2024, with a suggested retail price of 500 JPY per capsule.
"Dungeon Meshi" centers on "an adventure of enjoying gourmet food in a dungeon labyrinth." The protagonist, "Laios," and his party failed in their challenge against the Red Dragon and were wiped out. To save his sister, "Falin," who was swallowed by the Red Dragon, he decided to challenge the dungeon again. To solve the food problem on a low budget (and because he had always wanted to taste monsters), Laios, along with the mage "Marcille," the locksmith "Chilchuck," and their newly met companion, the axe-wielding warrior "Senshi," who has been researching monster cuisine for ten years, embark on a self-sufficient monster cooking exploration journey in the dungeon.
This time, TOYS CABIN has teamed up with master chef Senshi to recreate the classic monster dishes that appeared in various episodes, based on Senshi's recipes and methods. The colors and shapes from the "Dungeon Meshi" anime settings are meticulously reproduced in sizes ranging from 4.5 to 7 cm, and even the kitchen utensils and plates are included. This is truly excellent and exciting! Beyond the inherent fun and significance of these dishes, pairing them with other toys will undoubtedly create amazing scenes. The editor is already eager to give these dishes to Link's action figure to play with; I'm so looking forward to it! This set is a must-collect.
