Bandai "Figure-rise Standard Amplified Yu-Gi-Oh! Chaos Soldier" Released Today! Official Unboxing and Product Introduction Revealed!

The third installment in Bandai's "Yu-Gi-Oh!" plastic model series, "Figure-rise Standard Amplified Chaos Soldier (Amplified Version)," which was announced last September, has finally been officially released today. BANDAI SPIRITS HOBBY Division in Japan has promptly unveiled an unboxing, assembly, and more detailed product explanation of the actual item.

The main feature of the "Figure-rise Standard Amplified" series is its reinterpretation of original settings to create richer, more exaggerated proportions and details. This "Chaos Soldier (Amplified Version)" box art design showcases a completely new sculpt drawn specifically for the product, adopting the same pose as the original card illustration but with a more massive and ornate design for the armor, sword, and shield. While seemingly similar to the "Black Luster Soldier" card art, the golden armor parts are sharper and more substantial.

The biggest selling point of this kit is the use of multiple plastic molding techniques to express different textures for each part. The dark purple armor is molded with polarized material, creating a gradient change from blue to purple depending on the viewing or light angle. The silver-white metallic blade uses "EXTRA FINISH processing," with plating and painting steps to achieve a silver-white luster with a metallic particle feel. The helmet's plume and all red gems on the body are rendered with clear red parts.

However, the gold parts throughout the body did not receive the same premium treatment, all being made with gold plastic molding. While brighter and more natural than Bandai's traditional 'dull gold' plastic, water marks are still very noticeable. If possible, a simple spray coat of gold paint would yield a much better texture. Overall, the color accuracy is already very high, with only the armor collar area requiring sticker application for color correction. The circular silver stickers are meant to be applied to the inner side of the ankle's clear red parts to enhance the reflection of the red gems.

Due to the armor design, the overall range of motion for the joints is not very extensive. The chest, waist, and ankle joints are not easily bent. Fortunately, the toe parts feature independent articulation that can bend approximately 90 degrees, allowing for high kneeling poses to compensate for the ankle joints. Recreating the card illustration's standing pose and various sword-wielding stances still looks good. Accessories also include a connector part for mounting the shield on the back and two types of weapon-holding hands with different angles, compensating for the single ball joint used for the wrist articulation.
