BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd.'s HOBBY Division in Japan, which offers the 'HG (High Grade)' series of 1/144 scale Gunpla boasting the most diverse range of mobile suits, announced today the latest product from the theatrical film "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM": the "HG 1/144 Infinite Justice Gundam Type-II," scheduled for release on June 29, 2024.
The ZGMF-X191M2 Infinite Justice Gundam Type-II, piloted by Athrun Zala, is a new mobile suit improved from his previous machine, the "Infinite Justice Gundam," using the latest technology from Morgenroete. It features an all-around monitor cockpit, VPS armor, and has undergone a significant overhaul in its armor's external details. A large beam horn has been added to its head for surprise attacks, and its back has been replaced with a new thruster backpack, the "M2X32E VOLANTES." With its new foldable wings, it gains ultra-high-speed combat capabilities, and the leading edges of all four wings can also deploy beam blades. However, because the nuclear power engine used in this machine violates the Junius Treaty, it must usually be disguised as a Z'Gok for discreet operation.
The "HG 1/144 Infinite Justice Gundam Type-II" is produced using Bandai's latest color separation and part division technology. Its characteristic silver frame parts are rendered with a realistic metallic gloss finish. It also incorporates the "SEED Action System," capable of recreating classic poses from the Gundam SEED series. With flexible joint designs such as rotating axes built into the knee armor and independently swinging hip joints for both legs, you can recreate the cool kicking combat poses from the show.
The new thruster backpack on the back can be detached for independent display. Its four wings feature independent movable joints to recreate both folded and deployed states, and effect parts are used to reproduce the beam blades deployed from the leading edges of the wings. The newly added beam saber on the head also includes effect parts for recreation. Furthermore, weapons and beam effects inherited from the Infinite Justice Gundam, such as the beam rifle, beam saber, beam shield effect, shield, beam boomerang, and leg beam blades, are also included. A single core wire is provided to recreate the shield's flying anchor in its deployed state.
