BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division recently announced its latest limited product from "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury", the "HG 1/144 Gundam Calibarn Permet Score Five", which will be exclusively sold at 'HYPER PLAMO Fes.2024', the Bandai Plastic Model Festival held at Makuhari Messe, Japan, from March 22-24, 2024. Additionally, the product will be pre-sold on Bandai's official online store, PREMIUM BANDAI.
The X-EX01 Gundam Calibarn is a prototype GUND-type mobile suit developed by the Vanadis Institute. Its development files were completely deleted after it lost to the Lfrith in the bidding phase, and the remaining prototype was seized and sealed by the Space Assembly League during the Vanadis Incident 21 years ago. This unit is equipped with a "Variable Rod Rifle" featuring four thrusters, giving it the appearance of a witch carrying a broom. As it lacks a Data Storm filter and completely disregards pilot safety, it is known as a "monster". This forced protagonist Suletta, even with a body copied from the chosen one "Eri", to barely overcome Permet Score Level 5 to enter the Data Storm field deployed by Quiet Zero, fighting with painful, rapid breaths.
The "HG 1/144 Gundam Calibarn Permet Score Five" is a modification of the previously released regular version. The IMD (In-Mold Decoration) parts and stickers for the glowing Permet Score areas across its body have been changed to a red line version. Other parts appear to be identical to the regular version. More detailed product information will be released at a later date.
