American collectible manufacturer Sideshow Collectibles, in collaboration with Spanish artist NEKRO XIII, has unveiled the DC superhero-themed "GOTHAM CITY'S SHADOW: BATMAN" statue as part of their "FINE ART STATUES" series! Shipping is expected to begin between February and April 2024, with a suggested retail price of US$1,010.
This piece stands approximately 51 cm tall, masterfully combining Gotham City, which Bruce Wayne strives to protect, with Batman's cowl. The integration showcases incredible sculpting prowess and meticulous detail, presenting Gotham – a city with high crime rates and a dark ambiance – as Gothic architectural carvings on the cowl. The pointed ears at the top transform into towering church spires, complemented by gargoyles, ornate corridors, and column decorations, evoking Batman's role as a shadowy figure who emerges from Gotham's nights to dispense justice. The striking Bat-symbol on the chest is also intricately sculpted, resembling the gates of Wayne Manor, and simultaneously appears to be a physical manifestation of Batman's intertwined relationship with his rogues. The overall effect is truly magnificent.
