BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd.'s collector's toy division, TAMASHII NATIONS, has officially announced today that the latest product from the theatrical anime film Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM, the "Destiny Gundam SpecII" from the 'METAL ROBOT SPIRITS' series, which combines metallic paintwork and an alloy frame, is scheduled for release in July 2024.
The ZGMF/A-42S2 Destiny Gundam SpecⅡ is a new mobile suit secretly recovered by the Eternal after the previous great war, severely damaged, and then repaired and improved by Morgenroete with the latest technology. In addition to being upgraded to a cutting-edge all-around cockpit and having its joint armor material replaced, its power system has also been significantly improved. The substantial increase in energy has resulted in a deeper color for its VPS armor. The armaments remain largely unchanged, and with Shinn Asuka once again serving as its pilot, it has finally demonstrated its intended combat performance.
The "METAL ROBOT SPIRITS Destiny Gundam SpecII" is based on the previously released Destiny Gundam, utilizing the same parts and a partial alloy frame. It not only faithfully recreates the sleek and cool design from the anime but also possesses the substantial feel of an alloy toy. The entire unit features new paint colors to reproduce the enhanced VPS armor's deeper hue. Original body markings are also printed on various parts of the mobile suit to enhance detail density, and the electroplated alloy joints contribute to a cool, weighty texture.
Like previous products, the Destiny Gundam SpecII also comes with the same rich array of armament accessories and mechanisms, including the "Arondight" Beam Sword, High-Energy Long-Range Beam Cannon, "Flash-Edge 2" Beam Boomerang, High-Energy Beam Rifle, and more. Effect parts can also be used to recreate the "Palma Fiocina" Palm Beam Cannon and Beam Shield. This release further adds the new armament from the theatrical version, the "Railgun," which is approximately 10 cm long and features a deployable auxiliary grip and a detachable magazine mechanism, allowing for dynamic combat poses with the main unit's flexible articulation.
