BANDAI CANDY, the shokugan division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., has announced that the popular shokugan product 'Mobile Suit Gundam G-FRAME FA' will release its seventh installment this summer, simultaneously revealing a silhouette of the latest included mobile suit, "Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam".
In the latter half of the theatrical film "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM", the protagonist Kira Yamato pilots the ZGMF/A-262B Strike Freedom Gundam Type II. This new mobile suit is an improved version of his previous Strike Freedom Gundam, utilizing the latest technology from Morgenroete. While its appearance hasn't changed significantly and its original armaments are largely intact, a powerful "Convergent Heavy Nuclear Beam Cannon" has been added to its forehead. However, due to its high energy consumption, it cannot be used in this form until it combines with the new enhanced backpack "Proud Defender", piloted by Lacus, to become the ZGMF/A-262PD-P Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam. When the Proud Defender mounted on its back deploys its wings, it can disperse nano-particles via brainwave transmission and unleash powerful high-voltage currents within its range. Furthermore, to combat enemy mobile suits with strong beam resistance, it is equipped with a sharp physical sword, the "Futsunomitama".
Since G-FRAME FA has not previously released a Strike Freedom Gundam, this teased enhanced mobile suit will undoubtedly feature many new parts to accurately represent its new theatrical design. To recreate its distinctive golden frame, it will also utilize a frame molding color different from standard mobile suits. Furthermore, the combination mechanism between the Strike Freedom Gundam Type II and the Proud Defender is a major highlight.
