To commemorate the 35th anniversary of the "SD Gundam Gaiden" series, BANDAI SPIRITS' collector's toy division, TAMASHII NATIONS, has announced today the latest product from the Original SD Gundam World model kit line, "Super G-ARMS GUNGENESIS Superior Dragon Edition," based on "SD Gundam Gaiden: Legend of the G-ARMS," scheduled for release in August 2024. This product will be sold exclusively on BANDAI's official online store, PREMIUM BANDAI.
In the story, before its demise, the technologically advanced Moon Kingdom created seven "G-ARMS" units, each with performance superior to modern mobile suits. When combined, they could form their true ultimate form, "Super G-ARMS GUNGENESIS." However, during the great war against the "Evil of the Moon," one of the "Moon G-ARMS" units suffered irreversible damage and was later even converted into an enemy unit, the "Shadow G-ARMS," preventing the true power of Super G-ARMS GUNGENESIS from ever being fully realized. Nevertheless, the remaining six G-ARMS units, when combined, were still referred to as "Super G-ARMS" and possessed formidable combat power. Under the control of the protagonist, Moonlight Knight NEO Gundam, it wielded the golden greatsword "GENESIS BLADE" to fight against the mastermind behind the Evil of the Moon.
The "Original SD Gundam World Super G-ARMS GUNGENESIS Superior Dragon Edition" re-releases the previously separately sold Sun G-ARMS and the 5-unit G-ARMS set together. Once assembled, it can recreate the forms of the six G-ARMS units: Sun, Black Earth, White Crystal, Green Tree, Blue Water, and Yellow Fire. The brilliant color schemes of each unit are reproduced using double-layered jewels, plated parts, clear parts, and newly molded metallic and pearl-colored parts.
After the six G-ARMS units undergo "Radiant Combination" via their transformation mechanism, they can recreate the powerful "Super G-ARMS GUNGENESIS." The golden plated weapons from each unit combine to form the golden greatsword "GENESIS BLADE," which can be equipped in its hand. This "Superior Dragon Edition" also includes a Knight Superior Dragon card and a set of luxurious gold foil decals, allowing for opulent gold patterns to be applied to various parts of the body.
Furthermore, the product images also feature the silhouette of a mysterious G-ARMS unit—the once-existent "Moon G-ARMS." Perhaps BANDAI will soon announce the long-awaited commercialization of the "Moon G-ARMS," and fans can further anticipate whether it can combine with the other six G-ARMS units to form the complete seven-unit combination, "Super G-ARMS GUNGENESIS FINAL Ver.," which never appeared in the original work but was only revealed in card products!
