Hello, Toy People! The Toy Expedition team is back at Taipei City Mall's Plaza 5 today for the collector's exhibition "TAMASHII SPOT TAIPEI Gallery Showcase," hosted by Bandai's collectors division, TAMASHII NATIONS! This event once again features a dual-venue format, with not only the first venue at Plaza 5 but also a second venue at the nearby "TAMASHII SPOT TAIPEI ~BANDAI SPIRITS Collector's Toy Special Space~" at Taipei City Mall Shop No. 66.
TAMASHII SPOT TAIPEI Gallery Showcase
Dates:
2024/2/23 (Fri) - 2024/3/3 (Sun) 12:00-19:00 (Saturdays and Sundays open at 11:00)
Locations:
• First Venue: Taipei City Mall, Plaza 5 (near Exit Y17)
• Second Venue: TAMASHII SPOT TAIPEI～BANDAI SPIRITS Collector's Toy Special Space (Taipei City Mall, Shop No. 66)
With a theme of "displaying toys like works of art for detailed appreciation," the first venue of the Gallery Showcase features picture frame-style designs around the display cases, creating a very clear, clean, and somewhat premium visual effect. First up is the One Piece section (on the outer side of the venue), which excited this editor the most. The massive Figuarts ZERO [EXTRA BATTLE] "Luffy -Gear 5 Giant-" and the S.H.Figuarts Gear 5 Luffy are definitely major highlights! The adjacent S.H.Figuarts Kaidou (Man-Beast Form) action figure is equally impressive and powerful!
Next is a large, 1/1 scale statue of S.H.Figuarts Anya, a dedicated Spy x Family section, and a display of new items from Naruto.
▼ The Forger family in their winter outfits from "SPY x FAMILY CODE: White The Movie" makes their debut in the Figuarts mini series!
● S.H.Figuarts Naruto Uzumaki [Kurama Link Mode] -A Bond of Hope that Connects Thoughts-
● Figuarts ZERO [EXTRA BATTLE] Naruto Uzumaki -Sage Art: Lava Release Rasenshuriken-
● Figuarts ZERO [EXTRA BATTLE] Sasuke Uchiha -Mangekyo Sharingan's Light and Darkness-
Next, let's head inside the venue! The first case we see contains exclusive items from TAMASHII NATIONS STORE and SUNRISE SPIRITS, which are now available for purchase right here at Taipei City Mall!
Inside the venue, there are new prototypes from various series such as "Dragon Ball," "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire," "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End," "Kamen Rider GOTCHARD," "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM," "Kaiju No. 8," "SHY," and more.
▼ The first S.H.Figuarts "Dragon Ball Z" series figure to feature a cloth cape, "Super Saiyan Son Gohan -The Warrior Who Surpassed Goku-."
▼ For its first exhibition in Taiwan, it appears in such a tragic pose. Yamcha, we really feel for you.
▼ The great Mecha Frieza, split in two!
● S.H.Figuarts Kaiju No. 8
● S.H.Figuarts Reno Ichikawa
● S.H.Figuarts Kenpachi Zaraki
● S.H.MonsterArts Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire Godzilla (2024)
● S.H.MonsterArts Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire Kong (2024)
● S.H.MonsterArts SpaceGodzilla Fukuoka Decisive Battle Ver.
● S.H.Figuarts Frieren
"SHY," created by Japanese manga artist Bukimi Miki, tells the growth story of the shy Teru Momijiyama as a superhero. This time, "SHY / Teru Momijiyama" and "Spirits / Pepesha Andreanove" are being brought to life in the S.H.Figuarts series.
● S.H.Figuarts Tanjiro Kamado
At the Tanjiro display case, there's a sign for a photo rally gift event. There are also photo spot signs at Creative Dragon Gifts (Taipei City Mall Shop No. 87) and Ruisuke Toys 1 (Taipei City Mall Shop No. 89). By taking photos of all the signs and toys and adding the PB (PREMIUM BANDAI) LINE official account, you can receive an exquisite desk calendar. Later, this editor will take you Toy People to see the other two photo spots.
▼ The "Soul of Chogokin GX-107 Gurren Lagann & Giga Drill Set," which can actually use the gears in its base to rotate the drill—how epic is that!!

Next, let's head over to the second venue together. This area primarily features new displays from series like "Chainsaw Man," "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba," "MASHLE: MAGIC AND MUSCLES," and more. However, this editor's personal favorite highlight is definitely the METAL BUILD "Gundam 0080 Kämpfer" and the Chogokin "ZOIDS" "Liger Zero Armor Set"!
● S.H.MonsterArts Tigrex
In addition to the off-white, highly versatile "Type Zero" armor for the lion-type Zoid RZ-041 Liger Zero, which has already been released in the Chogokin series, this time you can see the melee combat armor "Schneider," the high-speed combat armor "Jaeger," and the heavy artillery armor "Panzer" all at once! It's just too awesome.

▼ The "Photo Rally Gift Event" section at Creative Dragon Gifts showcases items from "SAND LAND," including S.H.Figuarts Beelzebub and the Chogokin Royal Army Tank Corps No. 104.
In addition to the photo rally, the TAMASHII SPOT TAIPEI Gallery Showcase also features a variety of gift campaigns on-site. Besides direct gifts with purchase like cup sleeves, magnetic card holders, and EasyCards, there's also a lucky draw where the more you spend, the better your chances. For every NT$1,000 spent, you receive one raffle ticket (and so on), giving you a chance to win a rotating display case, acrylic display stands, an umbrella, a desk calendar, or a lanyard!
