Following the "Minato Namikaze" release, TAMASHII NATIONS' collectible figure brand "S.H.Figuarts," a division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, today announced a new product based on the "NARUTOP99 Commemorative Illustration" specially drawn by *Naruto* author Masashi Kishimoto to thank fans: "Uchiha Itachi -NARUTOP99 Edition-," scheduled for release in August 2024!
Uchiha Itachi, older brother of Uchiha Sasuke, was an undeniable genius ninja who loved the Hidden Leaf Village, cherished peace, and deeply loved his younger brother. However, to protect the village from the turmoil of war, he accepted a mission from the Leaf's higher-ups to exterminate the Uchiha clan, leaving only his brother Sasuke alive. He then left the Hidden Leaf Village to become a rogue ninja and joined the rogue ninja organization "Akatsuki."
This product is based on the global *Naruto* character popularity poll conducted from December 28, 2022, to January 31, 2023, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the *Naruto* manga. Uchiha Itachi secured second place with an astonishing 505,000 votes, surpassed only by Naruto's father, Minato Namikaze.
The "Uchiha Itachi -NARUTOP99 Edition-" articulated figure stands approximately 15.5 cm tall, faithfully recreating Itachi's sword-wielding pose from the NARUTOP99 commemorative illustration. A major highlight of this release is undoubtedly the cloth Akatsuki cloak! This marks the first time S.H.Figuarts has utilized cloth material in a *Naruto*-themed product, which not only adds a realistic texture to the overall figure but also significantly reduces the cloak's impact on articulation, allowing for the cool pose of Itachi placing his hand on his chest upon his appearance!
The accessories are quite extensive, including four interchangeable face parts, five pairs of interchangeable hand parts, the NARUTOP99 Edition sword and scabbard, and the cloak!
