First 4 Figures, the British toy company renowned for releasing sculptures based on various video game IPs, recently unveiled a collectible prop themed after the highly popular 2017 game, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – the "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Sheikah Slate." It will be available in both a Regular Edition and an Exclusive Edition, with an estimated shipping date in Q1 2025!
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, developed by Nintendo EPD, was released in 2017 for the Nintendo Switch and Wii U consoles, marking the 18th installment in The Legend of Zelda series. In the game, players control the protagonist Link as he explores the world, defeats Calamity Ganon, and restores the fallen kingdom of Hyrule. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild garnered immense love from both the industry and players for its open-world gameplay experience and meticulous attention to detail, winning The Game Awards (TGA) in 2017. As of 2023, the Switch version has achieved a record-breaking global sales figure of 31.61 million units, making it the best-selling title in The Legend of Zelda series and one of the most successful video games of all time.
The Sheikah Slate is the first and one of the most crucial items players acquire in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It is a magical tablet with a glowing central panel, bearing a striking resemblance to the Nintendo Switch console held by players. Its in-game description even playfully states, "Though this is your first time seeing this slate, it feels strangely familiar." As the story progresses, players can unlock tools within the Sheikah Slate, such as the Magnesis Rune, Remote Bombs, Stasis Rune, and Camera, by interacting with "Guidance Stones."
This "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Sheikah Slate" collectible prop is crafted from resin, with the slate resting serenely on its base. The intricate paintwork and sculpting perfectly capture the texture of stone, recreating the scene where the Sheikah Slate is first obtained in the game. The most exciting feature is undoubtedly the Exclusive Edition, which boasts sound and light effects! As the Sheikah Slate is lifted, the base's totem illuminates, and the slate's panel, handle, and the eye on its back also light up, perfectly replicating its in-game appearance!
