Renowned Japanese model manufacturer Art Spirits, with their exquisite figure product series "Q Collection (Qコレクション)", which primarily features chibi-style designs, is set to release a character from the famous game "Dark Souls", the "Knight of Astora" (アストラの上級騎士), in July 2024! Priced at 9,680 JPY.
The "Dark Souls" trilogy, developed by From Software, is beloved by many players for its unique settings and high difficulty, earning renowned producer Hidetaka Miyazaki much praise and acclaim. The game's mysterious lore, infused with medieval and Cthulhu elements, keeps many players endlessly engaged, even through numerous deaths. The subtle allusions and storytelling within the game are a constant source of discussion among fans.
In the official release of "Dark Souls", the name of this Knight of Astora is unknown to us. The player, as the Undead protagonist, encounters him on the verge of death after defeating the Asylum Demon. He entrusts us with the mission to journey to Lordran, the land of ancient kings, and ring the Bells of Awakening, then dies after giving us the "Estus Flask". If one returns to the Undead Asylum later, they will battle him, now driven mad (defeating him yields the Crest Shield). His name, "Oscar", was later discovered by players in discarded game files, along with related scrapped plotlines.
This Q Collection series Oscar, Knight of Astora, released by Art Spirits, stands approximately 13 cm tall. It faithfully recreates his in-game appearance: a standard adventurer's outfit, an iron-grey full-face helmet, paired with a blue leather tunic and chainmail. He holds a straight sword and a blue crest shield. All the small accessories, patterns, and designs on his body are meticulously reproduced. In addition to his weapon, accessories include a display base and the familiar bonfire checkpoint, which, when displayed together, truly evoke the game's atmosphere.
