Japan's renowned model developer PLUM will release in June 2024 a 1/144 scale pre-painted finished model product of the protagonist fighter jet "VIC VIPER" (Big Viper) from KONAMI's classic 2D shooting game "Gradius"! Priced at 27,500 JPY.
The VIC VIPER is a uniquely designed, hyper-dimensional fighter jet. Its most distinctive feature is that its nose cone is not a typical pointed shape, but rather split into two sections on the left and right. In the game, it serves as the primary military fighter jet used to resist invading planets. Its initial equipment is very basic and weak, but after collecting enough power-up capsules, its equipment can be upgraded to become the ultimate fighter with formidable firepower.
This pre-painted finished model of the VIC VIPER fighter jet is a physical product based on the game settings of "Gradius V" (グラディウスV), released on the PS2 console in 2004. This version is the "VIG VIPER T-301", measuring approximately 14.4 cm in total length. It comes with a specially designed exclusive display stand. In addition to displaying the aircraft itself, the stand's movable arm can also display the in-game "Option" units, recreating scenes from the game. The engine cover features embedded magnets, allowing for easy opening and reattachment. Flame effect parts can be attached to the aircraft's thrusters.
