Japan's FUJIMI model company, under its "Free Research" series, which has recently collaborated with numerous IPs, announced the launch of a new product themed after "Kamen Rider Kuuga" – the "Free Research Series Kamen Rider Kuuga Stag Beetle Kuuga / Gouram Color Scheme" assembly model kit. "Kamen Rider Kuuga" aired in January 2000, marking the first work of the Heisei Kamen Rider series and the revival of the Kamen Rider IP after many years. It brought a brand new look to Kamen Rider at the time and laid the foundation for the beloved Heisei Kamen Rider series that would gain widespread fan adoration in the future.
This product's coloring references Kuuga's iconic "Mighty Form" and the auxiliary tool "Gouram" from "Kamen Rider Kuuga". The Kuuga color scheme features the stag beetle's large mandibles, resembling horns, painted in gold. The eyes replicate Kuuga's red compound eyes, while the abdomen uses the silver of his belt.
