Japanese assembly model manufacturer Fine Molds (ファインモールド), known for its highly acclaimed Ghibli "Vignette Collection," following the previous "No.1 Porco Rosso: Porco's Hideout," has once again collaborated with Kaiyodo to launch a new Studio Ghibli-themed product—the "No.2 Porco Rosso: Sleep-Deprived Fio (tentative translation)" assembly model. The suggested retail price is 4180 JPY, with an anticipated release date of March 22, 2024!
"Porco Rosso" is Studio Ghibli's fifth animated film directed by animation master Hayao Miyazaki. It tells the story of the protagonist, Porco Rosso, an Italian ace pilot from World War I, who is cursed by magic and transformed into a pig. After the war, he makes his home in the Adriatic Sea, pursuing the "air pirates" of the region.
This "No.2 Porco Rosso: Sleep-Deprived Fio" recreates the scene from the film where Fio spends an entire night redesigning Porco's aircraft, meticulously presenting various details such as the drawing board, rolled blueprints, the hanging lamp, and items on the floor. Fio, with sleepy eyes, is captured in a dynamic pose stretching in her seat by the studio window, clearly showing her immense dedication to building the best aircraft for Porco!
The product is manufactured in four molded colors similar to those in the film. Actual products require collectors to paint and assemble them themselves.
