Denmark's LEGO toy company announced this evening (7th) what can be described as a bombshell for 2024, celebrating the 85th anniversary of DC's most iconic character, Batman, in 2024 with the powerful new release "76271 Batman: The Animated Series Gotham City Skyline" (Batman: The Animated Series Gotham City)! It is scheduled to officially launch on April 4, 2024, with a suggested retail price of US$299.99 (Taiwan LEGO Certified Store price is NT$9,499).
This set contains a total of 4210 pieces, making it another incredibly powerful and innovative Batman-themed set following the "76252 Batcave – Shadow Box". Once assembled, it stands approximately 41 cm tall and an astonishing 76 cm long. Adopting a form similar to LEGO ART series works, it meticulously recreates the Gotham City skyline from "Batman: The Animated Series", including classic landmarks such as the Batcave, the Courthouse, Arkham Asylum, and the Joker's Amusement Park. The skyscrapers built according to the animated series' settings, the airship firing searchlights, and the huge, eye-catching Bat-Signal are even more exciting elements. Furthermore, the overall color palette, which faithfully reproduces the Dark Deco technique used in the original Batman animated series, is a major highlight! It's fantastic.
This "Batman: The Animated Series Gotham City Skyline" features multiple detachable sections. Once the exterior of the buildings is removed, you can discover the intricate internal designs and Easter eggs, such as the numerous characters inside Arkham Asylum and the mini brick-built Batmobile. There are two display options: wall-mounted or placed on a platform. The three-dimensional layering embedded within the flat form is truly excellent! Another major selling point of this set is undoubtedly the animated version of the minifigure lineup, including Batman, The Joker, Harley Quinn, and Catwoman. Each minifigure also comes with a display stand. For fans of "Batman: The Animated Series", from the choice of colors and the construction of the architectural silhouettes to the faithful recreation of every detail from the animation, every aspect is incredibly moving.
