Artificial FORCE, launch! Japanese company quesQ (Ques Q Co., Ltd.), which has released numerous anime and character toy products, will be launching a 1/120 scale pre-painted finished model of the "Shadow Force" version of the protagonist fighter "R-9Ø RAGNAROK" from the classic high-difficulty shooting game "R-TYPE". It is scheduled for release in August 2024, priced at 18,800 JPY.
The 2D side-scrolling shooting game "R-TYPE" was first released by IREM in arcades in 1987. Players control a uniquely designed fighter jet, the "R-9", and must skillfully maneuver the external orb equipment, the "FORCE", in combat. The FORCE can be freely attached to the front or rear of the aircraft and can also charge up to fire a Wave Cannon. This game is extremely difficult, earning it the moniker "high-density tactical violent shooting game," and is a favorite among players who enjoy a challenge.
The "R-9Ø" released this time is the protagonist fighter from "R-TYPE III". Its nickname is "RAGNAROK" (meaning "Twilight of the Gods"), boasting high output performance and equipped with powerful Wave Cannon weapons.
This is a pre-painted 1/120 scale finished model. Unlike the ROUND FORCE included with the previous model, this version features the SHADOW FORCE, another artificial creation from the game. While slightly different in design, both come with a dedicated, specially shaped display base. Through this, you can display the FORCE, sub-units, and the R-9Ø, recreating its fully equipped heroic appearance from the game. The overall design of the R-9Ø is intricate, with details such as the cockpit, engine, and wings faithfully reproduced. The side armor of the fuselage can also be freely removed or attached. The position of the SHADOW FORCE can also be arranged according to your preference.
