Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd. Gashapon brand has officially announced a new model series themed after "Kamen Rider", titled "Ultimate Truth". The first product in this series, from "Kamen Rider 555", is "Kamen Rider Faiz / Wolf Orphnoch", scheduled for release in September 2024.
"Ultimate Truth" is a new display model series based on the concept of "the same origin of good and evil." This concept is frequently applied in the "Kamen Rider" series, stemming from original author Shotaro Ishinomori's manga works, which often depicted heroes as one with monsters. For instance, most Showa-era Kamen Riders, including Kamen Rider 1, were humans modified by evil organizations. Despite possessing bodies similar to monsters, they chose the path of justice and rose to fight against these organizations. From the Heisei era, starting with Kamen Rider Kuuga, to the Reiwa era, this concept has been interpreted as "Kamen Riders utilizing the same power source as monsters," making the dual nature of the same power, divided into good and evil, even more apparent.
The first installment, "Kamen Rider Faiz / Wolf Orphnoch," represents the two forms of protagonist Takumi Inui. One half is the Wolf Orphnoch, into which he transformed after an accident in his youth, while the other half is Kamen Rider Faiz, transformed using the belt to deny his monster identity. The model is produced at approximately 15 cm tall in 1/12 scale, featuring intricate sculpting and color application to capture the detailed designs of both forms. It also includes a luxurious display stand printed with a golden logo.
