Released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, the "S.H.Figuarts (Shinkocchou Seihou)" series, which sculpts from the skeletal structure to recreate the physique of tokusatsu hero actors, today announced the latest product from "Ultraman Tiga", "Evil Tiga", is scheduled for release in September 2024.
Evil Tiga appeared in Episode 44 of "Ultraman Tiga". Although he is an ancient giant of light like Tiga, his true name is unknown, and he was referred to as "Evil Tiga" for distinction in the story. In reality, he was merely sleeping in his giant statue form alongside an ancient Komainu monster, having done nothing wrong. However, he was forcibly fused with the ambitious evil scientist Keigo Masaki, who also possessed ancient human genes. The mutual repulsion of good and evil within him caused his power to rampage, not only devastating the city but also killing the ancient Komainu monster closest to him. Ultimately, he was destroyed by Ultraman Tiga, a truly tragic fate.
The "S.H.Figuarts (Shinkocchou Seihou) Evil Tiga" is personally supervised by Tsuburaya Productions' LLS modeling department. Digital scanning technology was used to capture the physique of action actor Koji Nakamura, who portrayed Evil Tiga at the time, allowing for the creation of an articulated body that closely matches his on-screen appearance. The highly flexible head sculpt for the product was prototyped by Minoru Narita, who was responsible for creating the suit's head sculpt back then, thoroughly recreating details such as the sharp ear shape, chin, and black eyeliner that distinguish him from Tiga.
The body also utilizes numerous new parts to recreate the distinct design differences from Tiga, including the V-shaped lines on the chest, sharp-edged cuffs and ankles, and different color block distribution across the entire body. Accessories include various interchangeable hand parts to recreate impressive combat poses from the series, as well as effect parts to replicate his signature beam attack, "Evil Shot".
