BANDAI SPIRITS Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS, which issues the new 6-inch action figure series "GUNDAM UNIVERSE" designed for Mobile Suit Gundam fans worldwide, announced today that the new mobile suit "Gundam EX" from the new anime Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance is scheduled for release in November 2024.
The new anime Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance, produced using Unreal Engine 5, will be exclusively streamed on Netflix with a total of 6 episodes (30 minutes each). The story is set in the Universal Century of the original Mobile Suit Gundam, depicting a brand new original story that takes place on the European front during the One Year War. This work is produced by Sunrise in collaboration with SAFEHOUSE, using realistic 3DCG animation to portray war scenes. In the currently released teaser trailer, a group of Zeon soldiers piloting Zaku units can be seen witnessing the powerful destructive force of "Gundam" for the first time, a shocking sight.
The mobile suit "Gundam EX", released this time, was designed by Kimitoshi Yamane, who previously handled mechanical design for Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team. It reinterprets Kunio Okawara's RX-78 series Gundam with a more realistic style, incorporating Yamane's preferred concepts such as "mechanical structures of real-world machinery" and "functional and rational industrial design," reminiscent of the "Gundam Ez8," also designed by Kimitoshi Yamane.
Currently, some product preview images for "GUNDAM UNIVERSE Gundam EX" have also been released, showcasing rich detailed sculpting within the 6-inch action figure specifications. It comes equipped with a shield, beam rifle, and beam saber, among other armaments. Detailed product information is expected to be revealed on March 23rd.
