Japan's Bandai Namco Toys & Hobby's new combining robot toy series "UNITROBORN (ユニトロボーン)" will release its latest product, the "UNITROBO Melon Sword" combining robot! The suggested retail price is 2,750 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in April 2024.
UNITROBORN is a brand new original toy series that inherits the legacy of Bandai's early "Machine Robo" toys. The story is set around "UTA-ZO," mechanical lifeforms from space who arrive on Earth. To protect Earth's peace, they can use their songs to instantly combine any nearby objects of the same color into robots. Lobsters and apples, sharks and vending machines, hamburgers and bulldozers... all sorts of imaginative combinations can merge into powerful robots to defeat the mysterious enemies causing chaos.
The "UNITROBO Onigiri Police Car" combining robot maintains the series' style of emphasizing the preservation of the original object's form before combination. It combines Japan's popular fruit "melon" and a "sword," featuring a clever transformation and combination mechanism. By aligning the connection points, it naturally springs open and transforms, unfolding wings and tail feathers, to become a bird-type robot approximately 23 cm in size! The sword and melon can be combined with the separately sold "Police Robot" for an even cooler upgrade!
