MENG Model "Dune Atreides Royal Ornithopter" 1/72 Scale Assembly Model Kit: Dragonfly-like Wing Design Flexibly Recreated!

MENG Model, a model manufacturer renowned for its military assembly model kits such as armed pickups, tanks, and battleships, will release the "Atreides Royal Ornithopter" 1/72 scale assembly model kit, based on the movie "Dune"! The suggested retail price is 16,500 JPY, and it is expected to be released in April 2024.

The film adaptation of Frank Herbert's classic masterpiece "Dune," also titled "Dune," directed by Denis Villeneuve, showcases magnificent desert landscapes, intricate art design, and a powerful, breathtaking soundtrack. Coupled with a brilliant plot adaptation, it immerses audiences in the boundless charm of Arrakis. In the film series, the Atreides family's unique aircraft—the Royal Ornithopter—features an 8-wing design that mimics the high-frequency flapping of a dragonfly. It is capable of vertical takeoff and landing, boasts excellent maneuverability, and can navigate the relentless sandstorms of the desert, leaving a profound impression.

This MENG Model "Atreides Royal Ornithopter" 1/72 scale assembly model kit, officially licensed by Legendary Pictures, recreates the exquisite details of the ornithopter in an assembly format. Once assembled, it boasts a wingspan of 720mm and a length of approximately 318mm. The kit includes two sets of fully interchangeable landing gear systems, allowing for both landing and flight configurations. The canopy is reproduced with clear parts, and the kit comes with decal stickers and a dedicated display stand. A gear mechanism is integrated within the fuselage, enabling independent control of each pair of wings, faithfully reproducing their characteristic up-and-down flapping, rotation, and folding/unfolding movements!
