Japanese model manufacturer Kaiyodo has announced the latest product from its large soft vinyl statue 'MEGA SOFVI' series, 'Kamen Rider No. 1' from the movie 'Shin Kamen Rider', slated for release in September 2024.
The protagonist of the 'Shin Kamen Rider' version, Takeshi Hongo, is also a young man possessing both intellect and physical prowess, though he struggles with social interaction. After being abducted by the SHOCKER organization, he was transformed into a grasshopper kaijin with powerful jumping abilities and the strength to brutally disfigure an ordinary person with a single punch. Fortunately, he escaped with the help of Ruriko Midorikawa just before his brainwashing was complete. Takeshi Hongo later learned that he was chosen as a warrior by his former mentor and SHOCKER-defector researcher, Hiroshi Midorikawa, who refined him into a masterpiece possessing immense power while retaining his humanity, entrusting him with the hope of defeating SHOCKER. Although forcibly transformed and endowed with unwanted violence, the kind-hearted Takeshi Hongo still wished to protect people, resolving to become 'Kamen Rider' to fight against SHOCKER.
The 'MEGA SOFVI Kamen Rider No. 1' boasts an impressive height of approximately 47 cm. Crafted from soft vinyl with rich color applications, it thoroughly recreates the suit's appearance from the film, including intricate details such as the transparent compound eye patterns, the metallic and leather textures of the protective suit, and the windmill and metallic casing of the 'Typhoon' transformation belt. In addition to the fabric-made red scarf, the product also includes a set of fabric black trench coat, allowing the figure to be dressed directly to recreate its cool appearance from the film!
