GOOD SMILE COMPANY, a Japanese figure manufacturer, today announced the latest product from its affordable pre-painted figure series 'POP UP PARADE': "Holo 2024Ver." from the anime "Spice and Wolf MERCHANT MEETS THE WISE WOLF", scheduled for release in September 2024.
"Spice and Wolf" is a light novel series created by Isuna Hasekura, featuring themes of economics, trade, and fantasy. Set in a pseudo-medieval European backdrop, it chronicles the journey of the merchant protagonist Lawrence and the wise wolf Holo, a goddess of harvest, as they resolve incidents using experience, wisdom, and even luck, transforming risks into wealth. After two seasons of anime adaptation were released from 2008 to 2009, there were no further adaptations until April 2024, when a completely new remake anime, "Spice and Wolf merchant meets the wise wolf", was finally released, with settings closer to the original work.
The body sculpt of "POP UP PARADE Holo 2024Ver." reuses that of the 15th Anniversary Edition released in 2022, which recreated the novel's cover. It meticulously reproduces her warm, ethnic-style clothing and the wheat pouch hanging from her chest with intricate sculpting and rich colors. The head and tail sculpts, however, are newly produced parts, based on the new anime's design, creating a mischievous and cute winking smile and a more luxuriant tail. The items held in her hands have also changed from wheat ears to Holo's favorite apples.
