Following the "Disney Characters" and "Pixar Characters" series, TAKARA TOMY's toy brand T-ARTS (株式会社タカラトミーアーツ) is set to release a new collection in its "Yummy! Sweets Mascot" gashapon toy series this April, featuring Disney Villains! The suggested retail price is 400 JPY per capsule, with a total of four designs to collect.
The "Yummy! Sweets Mascot" series, which masterfully combines the classic features of popular Disney characters with various desserts, now presents treats exuding a villainous aura! First up is the "Ursula Berry Parfait" served in a clear cup, adorned with octopus tentacles and shell-shaped icing cookies. Next is the layered "Queen of Hearts Shortcake." The third item is the striking "Maleficent Chocolate Tart," crafted with her iconic black horned headdress. Beyond the glossy texture of the headdress, the seemingly crisp tart crust surface is also wonderfully detailed! Finally, there's the "Evil Queen Candied Apple," a definite must-have that will undoubtedly catch everyone's eye when placed on a table. The flowing texture of the candied sugar surface and the skull-shaped white chocolate detailing are exceptionally well-executed.
Although the price is 100 JPY higher per capsule than the previous two new releases, I personally highly recommend getting them! While the Queen of Hearts Shortcake is relatively conventional, fitting her rule-abiding character, the other three designs are absolutely superb in appearance and would make a perfect pairing for an afternoon tea photoshoot.
