US designer toy brand KIDROBOT recently collaborated with renowned animator, illustrator, and designer "CHOGRIN" to launch a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-themed product – the "TMNT GURU" resin figure. The suggested retail price is US$60, with an anticipated release in Q3 2024!
CHOGRIN has previously worked for major companies such as Disney and Cartoon Network, participating in the production of numerous animated and live-action works including "Adventure Time," "Regular Show: The Movie," and "Big City Greens." In 2022, he also collaborated with Netflix to release a series of "Stranger Things" merchandise. CHOGRIN's style is inspired by American and Japanese pop culture, primarily focusing on American cartoons, using simple black lines and color blocks to create quirky and interesting cartoon characters, and frequently reinterpreting characters from various IPs!
This TMNT Guru stands approximately 20.3 cm tall, reinterpreting the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the designer's unique style! CHOGRIN stated that this piece is a love letter from him to the four turtles and the entire IP. His "GURU" series gathers various elements representing a character into the Guru's six hands. This TMNT Guru holds the four turtles' exclusive weapons: a katana, a sai, nunchaku, and a bo staff. The remaining two hands hold the turtles' favorite pizza and a container for mutagen ooze. Because the four characters are merged, the letter on the waist becomes "T," representing "Turtles." The shell on the back also features thoughtful details like shurikens and bandages, and the base is presented as an iconic manhole cover. From the abundance of details, CHOGRIN's deep affection for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is evident!
