"Miniature Sniper" (ミニチュアスナイパー), released by Panda's Hole (パンダの穴), a capsule toy brand under Japan's TAKARA TOMY toy company, is set to release its latest "Miniature Sniper Vol. 3" (ミニチュアスナイパー3) in May 2024, following Vol. 1 and Vol. 2! The suggested retail price is 300 JPY per capsule.
Snipers need camouflage and cover, whether on a battlefield riddled with bullets or in an seemingly ordinary but actually perilous daily life, this never changes! "Miniature Sniper" is an interesting capsule toy series that conceals mini snipers within food, fruits, and various everyday objects. Placing a Miniature Sniper toy on an ordinary desk immediately creates a tense scene where you're constantly being targeted. In this latest third volume, released after a five-year hiatus, the snipers are not just staying in your homes, fellow toy enthusiasts; they've even expanded their operational territory to the wild, hiding inside discarded cicada shells to carry out secret missions. The editor personally thinks the concealment effect of this approach is quite ordinary, but the visual effect, like bio-soldiers or insect tanks, is definitely cool and chuunibyou-worthy.
In addition to the Cicada Shell Sniper, there are four other types: Snow Globe Sniper, Shichimi Powder Sniper, Marmalade Sniper, and Proposal Sniper. Hiding in spicy shichimi powder must make even breathing difficult – truly tough! The Snow Globe Sniper is the only item in this entire series that features a full-body sculpt of the sniper. Furthermore, the editor personally finds the Proposal Sniper very interesting. In a scene that resembles a marriage proposal, is this sniper playing the role of a modern weaponized Cupid, or does it symbolize a warning signal that "marriage is the tomb of love"?!
