Japan's renowned prize toy manufacturer Furyu's high-quality character brand F:NEX has once again collaborated with the famous traditional Japanese doll maker Yoshitoku. Today, they announced the latest product from "Spice and Wolf," the "Holo -Japanese Doll-", slated for release in April 2025. This product is made-to-order and will be exclusively sold at the official FURYU HOBBY MALL store.

Located in Asakusa, Tokyo, Yoshitoku is a traditional Japanese doll maker with a 300-year history, specializing in Hina dolls for Hinamatsuri (Girls' Day), Musha dolls (Gogatsu Ningyo) for Children's Day, and various dolls showcasing traditional Japanese culture. In recent years, they have actively collaborated with popular modern films, anime, and manga to release figure products, integrating their centuries-old craftsmanship into the characters of various works. Their corporate slogan is "The life of a doll is in its face (人形は顔がいのち)," emphasizing not only the production of high-quality kimonos or armor but also meticulously imbuing the doll's face with soul.

The character featured this time is Holo, the wolf deity heroine from the fantasy work "Spice and Wolf," set in medieval Europe. Centered around a kimono crafted by Japanese festival doll artisan Heian Juhou, the figure sculpts Holo in an elegant pose, holding a wheat stalk and displaying a gentle smile. Her flowing long hair and tail sway with her body, expressing her beautiful physique through the posture of traditional Japanese dance.

The kimono, a highlight of the product, utilizes Japan's most representative "Kata Yuzen" dyeing technique for fabrics such as the furisode, and is hand-dyed at a Yuzen factory in Kyoto. Furthermore, it integrates imagery from traditional Japanese culture with the world of "Spice and Wolf," using "purple," a color historically associated with nobility, as its base. It is adorned with patterns of representative flowers blooming in each of the four seasons—spring, summer, autumn, and winter—befitting Holo's noble status as the Wise Wolf who presides over bountiful harvests. The obi (sash) is made from "Kinran" fabric produced by the renowned Kyoto textile store "Bando Shoten," featuring magnificent patterns sewn with gold thread on a white base fabric.
