American toy brand NECA and renowned US retailer Target jointly launched their global collector online event "Haulathon" yesterday (the 12th) US time. Today, we're introducing the first week's revealed "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" themed product – the "Disguise Punk Turtles" 7-inch action figure set, with a suggested retail price of US$149.99. US and international buyers can now order it respectively from the Target online store and the Haulathon official website!
The "Disguise Punk Turtles'" punk hairstyle originates from the 1987 original animated series, Season 7, Episode 8, "Shredder's New Sword," where the four turtles wore punk-style disguises while encountering April on the streets of England, a look that April criticized in the show. The jacket and sunglasses styling, however, comes from Season 3, Episode 32, "Usagi Yojimbo." This product adapts their outfits from these two episodes as prototypes, recreating their classic canvas shoes and jacket looks, and crafting head sculpts for all four turtles wearing sunglasses and punk hairstyles – they look super cool!
The interchangeable parts include four pairs of interchangeable hands that can be used across the figures, and alternate head sculpts that recreate the four turtles' punk hairstyles from the animation, each with its own distinct features, looking very individualistic! Accessories include pizza, a skateboard, a classic boombox, and a grocery paper bag filled with goods, among other items. It looks like these rebellious little rascals are ready to throw an interesting party!
