Japanese model manufacturer PLEX today announced the latest product from its "Jumbo Soft Vinyl Figure" series, the "Jumbo Soft Vinyl Figure SD Gundam Mk-II (Titans Specification) -SD Gundam-", based on "Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam", scheduled for release in June 2024.
In Universal Century 0087, the "Titans", an elite radical faction of the Earth Federation Forces advocating Earth supremacy, sought to assert their authority over the pro-space faction "AEUG". They excluded engineers with Zeon backgrounds and appointed Franklin Bidan, protagonist Kamille Bidan's father, to lead the development. This led to the creation of the "RX-178 Gundam Mk-II", the successor to the iconic "RX-78 Gundam" series that turned the tide of the One Year War. While possessing an extremely similar external design, the entire unit was constructed using the latest contemporary technology, with the implementation of a "movable frame" significantly enhancing its mobility, expandability, and ease of maintenance.
The "Jumbo Soft Vinyl Figure SD Gundam Mk-II (Titans Specification) -SD Gundam-" is a modified version of the previously released AEUG color version. It features a powerful 24 cm tall, low-head SD design, rendered in the original Titans color scheme of dark blue, black, yellow, red, and green. The product is designed using 3D digital modeling, ensuring rich surface details on the armor, as well as rotational articulation in the neck, shoulders, hands, and waist joints. Additionally, accessories include an acrylic stand printed with the mobile suit's name, along with armaments such as a beam rifle, beam saber, and shield, which can be equipped for display.
