Bandai's GASHAPON division will release a product based on the classic cartoon "Tom and Jerry" – the "Tom and Jerry Light-Up Figures" (tentative title) gashapon. Each capsule will have a suggested retail price of 500 JPY, with an anticipated release in the fourth week of April 2024!

"Tom and Jerry," created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera in 1940 and produced and distributed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, is a classic animated series. During its original run from 1940 to 1958, it won 7 Academy Awards for Best Short Subject. After its revival in 1961, its popularity surpassed even the "Looney Tunes" cartoon series, becoming a globally beloved animated show. The exaggerated cartoon expressions and the timeless, love-hate dynamic between Tom and Jerry have ensured their enduring popularity, which continues to grow even more than 80 years after their debut!

This new series of Tom and Jerry Light-Up Figures utilizes the exaggerated deformation techniques often seen in the show, transforming Tom and Jerry into luminous models. The collection includes four styles: a square-shaped Tom, a cheese-shaped Jerry, a bowling pin-shaped Jerry, and the title logo. Each figure features a light-up function. The combination of their adorably exaggerated forms and glowing effects will make them a major highlight in the dark!
