Renowned American toy manufacturer Hasbro, during an online livestream on Monday (the 15th) US time, unveiled several new products from its Marvel Legends 6-inch action figure series set for upcoming release. Today, we'll first focus on the "Superior Spider-Man" product, which is now available for pre-order on the official Hasbro Pulse website. The suggested retail price is $29.99 USD, and it is expected to be released in September 2024!
Superior Spider-Man originates from the highly popular comic series of the same name, published from 2013 to 2014. The story takes place in Earth-12131, where the dying Doctor Octopus, Otto, ambushed Peter Parker while Peter was using the Octo-Helmet to save New York City. He swapped his consciousness with Peter's. However, in his dying moments, Peter injected his past memories into his original body, which forced Otto, now in Peter's body, to bear all of Spider-Man's responsibilities, becoming the new hero, "Superior Spider-Man," in Peter's stead.
Hasbro has crafted this figure based on the design depicted in the Superior Spider-Man comics. It faithfully recreates the iconic red and black suit, sharp fingertips, and mechanical accessories such as the wrist gauntlets Otto added to the suit. The biggest highlight of this release is the faithful recreation of the character's iconic four spider-legs. These allow for a wide variety of cool and dynamic poses, showcasing the superior and powerful charisma of Superior Spider-Man, distinct from Peter Parker!
