Japan's official "Mobile Suit Gundam" Gunpla flagship store, GUNDAM BASE, today announced the latest limited-edition product from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED", the "Figure-rise Standard SEED Lacus Clyne [GUNDAM BASE Color]", scheduled for release on April 27, 2024.
Lacus Clyne was originally the daughter of the moderate faction's chairman in P.L.A.N.T, and actively worked in both public and private sectors as an idol singer advocating for peace. After several encounters with Kira Yamato, she became even more determined to take action to stop the war between the Earth Alliance and P.L.A.N.T. She then left P.L.A.N.T to join Kira, forming an independent force, and used stolen data to develop powerful mobile suits such as the Freedom Gundam series and Justice Gundam series, becoming a crucial figure in ending two major wars.
The "Figure-rise Standard SEED Lacus Clyne [GUNDAM BASE Color]" is a modification of the previously released regular version. The molding colors of the costume parts and the Haro in her hand have been changed to the blue and white color scheme matching the GUNDAM BASE logo, and stickers featuring the GUNDAM BASE logo have been added. The outer box art has also been redesigned with the new costume colors and a store background, making Lacus the "poster girl" for GUNDAM BASE.
Other features remain the same as the regular version. It includes a pre-printed "normal face" and "smiling face" and "troubled face" that can be created using stickers, allowing for free interchangeability. Various parts of the body feature flexible movable joints for posing. Furthermore, the lower skirt parts can be removed to recreate the model's original mini-skirt style, expanding the range of motion for the legs.
