Issued by BANDAI CANDY, the Shokugan division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., the "SOUZOU GALLERY" series, which recreates the unique worldview of Studio Ghibli, is releasing two new products based on Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind – "Kushana & Tolmekian Armored Soldiers" (クシャナ&トルメキア装甲兵). The suggested retail price is 10,000 JPY, with an estimated release in October 2024!
Kushana is the commander of the Tolmekian Border Expeditionary Force and also the Fourth Princess of the Tolmekian Empire. Her arm was severed by insects from the Sea of Corruption and replaced with a prosthetic limb, leading her to despise the Sea of Corruption's ecosystem and wish to eradicate it. However, after encountering Nausicaä during the invasion of Pejite City and the Valley of the Wind to unify the border territories, she gradually began to question her own beliefs.
This Kushana & Tolmekian Armored Soldiers action figure recreates their appearance during the Tolmekian army's invasion of the Valley of the Wind. Pearlescent paint is used to restore the gleaming texture of the Tolmekian military's porcelain armor, and the sculpting also captures various details on the fabric and armor patterns. The accessories are abundant, including Kushana's sword and pistol, two types of swords for the Tolmekian Armored Soldiers, a shield, a rifle, a rifle belt, binoculars, an axe, and more. Furthermore, a full-body cloak is included, faithfully reproducing their in-story appearance!
This time, a two-pack of Tolmekian Armored Soldiers will also be sold separately, allowing collectors to build their own Tolmekian army. Displaying numerous armored soldiers together is incredibly cool!
