From Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company's HOBBY Division, the 'HG (High Grade)' series of 1/144 scale Gunpla, known for its diverse range of mobile suits, today announced the latest product from the theatrical film "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM": the "HG 1/144 Black Knight Squad Rud-ro.A Liderard & Daniel & Liu Unit Set", scheduled for release in July 2024. This product will be sold exclusively on the official Bandai website, PREMIUM BANDAI.
The NOG-M4F Black Knight Squad Rud-ro.A series are mobile suits developed by the emerging nation "Foundation" for its Royal Guard members. Compared to the close-combat specialized commander's unit, the "NOG-M1A1 Black Knight Squad Cal-re.A", this series is equipped with general-purpose standard armaments such as beam rifles, shields, and anti-ship swords. It also features the new generation "FT Armor" which can largely withstand beam attacks, and a "Beam Cloak" that combines offensive and defensive functions. To compensate for insufficient firepower during solo operations, these units will sortie with unmanned drones "Ginn-R" or "Dinn-R".
The "HG 1/144 Black Knight Squad Rud-ro.A Liderard & Daniel & Liu Unit Set" is a modification of the generally released Griffin unit, and is a three-unit set that includes Liderard's unit, Daniel's unit, and Liu Shenqiang's unit. The kit is produced using Bandai's latest part separation and color molding technology, allowing for a significant reproduction of the in-show colors through the molded parts alone. The beam shield effect parts are made with a polarizing molded material that changes color depending on the viewing angle.
For armaments, it includes a shield, a beam rifle that can be mounted on the rear skirt armor, and an anti-ship sword almost as long as the mobile suit itself. The distinctive Beam Cloak is reproduced using soft plastic parts with gradient printing. It also features a movable joint design called the "SEED Action System," which utilizes multi-axis articulation to expand the range of motion for the neck, shoulders, and upper body, allowing for cool action poses and in-show combat stances characteristic of the SEED series when combined with various armaments.
