Following the "Reverse Trike" vehicle from Death Stranding, Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya (KOTOBUKIYA) has once again announced its latest product in the model kit series, the "DEATH STRANDING Reverse Trike OP Ver.", with a suggested retail price of 8,800 JPY, scheduled for release in September 2024.
The first game released by renowned game producer Hideo Kojima after leaving KONAMI, "Death Stranding," is set in a world torn apart by the "Death Stranding" phenomenon. People are unable to communicate face-to-face, relying only on weak networks for basic interaction. Consequently, "porters" become crucial figures in connecting the world—they deliver supplies to various outposts, allowing isolated communities to connect with the outside world through the "Chiral Network."
The Kotobukiya "DEATH STRANDING Reverse Trike OP Ver." model kit is based on the Reverse Trike driven by protagonist Sam in the opening cinematic. It features partially remade parts from the previously sold version, including the headlights and rear cargo box, and adopts new color schemes and marking decals to recreate its appearance from the video. It can optionally be displayed in both Highway Mode and Off-Road Mode, each with its dedicated display stand; the front and rear tubes are made of soft material, allowing for flexible movement. Additionally, the set includes 3 S-size cargo cases, 2 types of cargo case parts, and 1 pair of spare boots, signaling the legendary porter's return to action!!!
