BANDAI SPIRITS Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS has announced today that the latest product from the new 6-inch action figure series 'GUNDAM UNIVERSE,' designed for Mobile Suit Gundam fans worldwide, the "Gundam Astray Red Frame" from the theatrical animation Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM, is scheduled for release in September 2024.
The Astray Gundam series consists of mobile suits completed by Orb's state-owned enterprise 'Morgenroete Inc.' when they collaborated with the Atlantic Federation, by illicitly using the Atlantic Federation's MS development technology to enhance their national defense capabilities. However, due to the failure in analyzing 'Phase Shift Armor' technology, the Astray series utilized foamed metal for its armor material and significantly reduced the armor's surface area. Although it lost most of its defensive power, it compensated for this flaw by gaining excellent mobility through its human-muscle-like flexible frame. The Red Frame, piloted by the versatile junk dealer "Lowe Guele," is further equipped with a pseudo-personality computer '8' to assist in operations. Coupled with katana-type armaments like the Gerbera Straight and Tiger Pierce, and various future 'black technology' enhanced forms, the Red Frame has become a highly popular mobile suit.
The "GUNDAM UNIVERSE Gundam Astray Red Frame" is an approximately 15 cm tall action figure, featuring highly durable joint designs and the series' characteristic styling. Its distinctive red frame boasts high-density sculpting. Armaments include parts for the Gerbera Straight (sheathed) and Gerbera Straight (unsheathed), allowing for various combat poses in conjunction with its articulated joints.
