Japan's GOOD SMILE COMPANY, in collaboration with Max Factory, is launching a new product series, "PLAMATEA," which will feature an assembly model of the protagonist, "Angela Balzac" (アンジェラ バルザック), from the 2014 animated work "Expelled from Paradise" (楽園追放 -Expelled from Paradise-)! It is scheduled for release in December 2024.
The 3D CG animated film "Expelled from Paradise" (楽園追放 -Expelled from Paradise-), released in November 2014, was co-produced by Toei Animation and Nitro+, directed by Seiji Mizushima, with "The Butcher" Gen Urobuchi as the screenwriter. Renowned voice actors such as Rie Kugimiya also lent their voices to the project.
The story primarily depicts a future world where Earth is no longer suitable for habitation due to environmental changes. People abandon their physical bodies, converting their consciousness into data, and reside in the computer world "Deva." The protagonist, Angela, is a data security officer. To track down a hacker who infiltrated Deva, she embarks on a mission in the form of a 16-year-old physical body, alongside the Earth-based investigator Dingo. Through this, she gradually uncovers the truth behind the incident.
The new product series "PLAMATEA," jointly announced and launched in August 2023 by GOOD SMILE COMPANY and Max Factory, focuses on highly detailed and faithfully reproduced articulated character assembly models. The initial releases include the Hatsune Miku 16th Birthday Ver., and this Angela from "Expelled from Paradise." This product stands approximately 14.5 cm tall, with articulated joints throughout. The character's costume design and details are meticulously recreated, including her flowing long hair. For expressions, there are two options to choose from: a normal face and a serious face. It also includes interchangeable hand parts and an articulated display stand for posing.
