From Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd.'s collector's toy division TAMASHII NATIONS, the popular action figure series "S.H.Figuarts" today announced the latest product from "The Return of Ultraman", the "Black King: When the Ultra Star Shines Ver.", scheduled for release in October 2024.
Black King is a monster that first appeared in episodes 37 and 38 of "The Return of Ultraman". It is a bodyguard monster brought by the "Assassin Alien" Nackle Seijin in the series to defeat Ultraman Jack and invade Earth. Not only are its basic abilities extremely formidable, but it has also undergone special training to combat Ultraman, allowing it to effectively defend against and evade Ultraman Jack's various attacks, while also being able to unleash high-power lava heat rays, "Hell Magma," from its mouth.
The "S.H.Figuarts Black King: When the Ultra Star Shines Ver." is a modified version based on the regular edition released in 2019. It reuses the mold from that version to recreate the asymmetrical left and right design and the characteristic golden giant horn on its head from the series. It also features precise articulation splits, allowing for flexible joint movement while effectively preventing parts from being exposed, thus maintaining the integrity of its sculpt.
The difference from the 2019 version is the addition of white gradient paintwork on the hands, feet, and other areas, recreating its appearance after intense battles in the series. Accessories also include a circular display base printed with the logo of episode 38's subtitle, "When the Ultra Star Shines."
