The 'MORTAL MIND' die-cast action figure series, released by Chinese toy brand CCSTOYS, recently showcased the latest developing prototype of its upcoming product, "Mazinkaizer SKL," at the 'ANIMES-PRO FESTIVAL 2024' joint exhibition of premium distributor brands. The release date is yet to be determined.
The OVA anime "Mazinkaizer SKL," released in 2011, deviates from the settings of previous OVA Mazinkaizer iterations, featuring new characters, mecha designs, and an original story background. It depicts the SKULL FORCE, a combat unit belonging to the WSO, intervening in the power struggle between the three major factions on Machine Island, joining forces with the Aira Army to fight against the Kiba and Garan armies. The two protagonists, Ken Kaido and Ryo Magami, who famously declare "We are Hell!", pilot the super robot 'Mazinkaizer SKL,' a machine whose power surpasses both demons and gods. Its design incorporates numerous skull motifs and is equipped with two distinct armaments: the retractable greatsword "Gazan Blade" and the "Breast Trigger" twin guns that can transform into a giant axe, catering to Ken Kaido's expertise in close-quarters combat and Ryo Magami's unparalleled precision shooting skills.
The overall design style and skeletal structure of "Mazinkaizer SKL" inherit from previously released Mazinkaizer products in the MORTAL MIND series. It boasts rich armor details and separate parts that go beyond the original work, and in addition to its characteristic tattered cape, it now features numerous spiked chains wrapped around its body. This exhibition marks the first public display of its signature greatsword armament, the "Gazan Blade," which is even larger than the main body itself, featuring intricate details and sharp, barbed styling, giving it an incredibly strong presence.
