Before introducing this wave of sets, let's talk about the BrickLink Designer Program! This BDP initiative, which can be described as a gathering of talented AFOLs worldwide, first emerged in 2018. After numerous modifications and the impact of LEGO's acquisition of BrickLink, the latest version of BDP can broadly be seen as another program similar to the LEGO IDEAS platform for submissions. Besides being open to passionate LEGO fans globally, the biggest difference from the IDEAS series products is that the works are generally not extensively modified and can be sold to LEGO enthusiasts in a version closest to the creator's original design, thus receiving enthusiastic support from a wide range of AFOLs.
This second wave of BDP sets includes Mushroom House, The Ocean House, Brick Cross Station, Logging Railway, and Ominous Isle. If the crowdfunding stage reaches the threshold of 3,000 units, production will officially commence, with a maximum limit of 30,000 units. Shipping is expected to begin in November 2024.
