Hong Kong toy company STORM COLLECTIBLES, following their 2022 release of "Ken the Eagle", has once again launched a product based on the classic anime "Science Ninja Team Gatchaman" – the "Jun the Swan G-3" (白鳥のジュン／G-3号) action figure. It has a suggested retail price of US$85 and is expected to be released in Q1 2025!
"Science Ninja Team Gatchaman" (科学忍者隊ガッチャマン) is a TV anime produced by Tatsunoko Production in 1972, based on an original concept by Tatsuo Yoshida and planned by Jinzo Toriumi and Ippei Kuri. It is undoubtedly a cherished memory for many toy collectors born in the 60s and 70s. When that familiar melody of "Fly! Fly! Gatchaman!" plays, one can't help but sing along! This time, the featured character is Jun the Swan G-3, a 16-year-old Japanese-American girl and the third member of the Science Ninja Team. She excels at setting bombs, always able to plant timed explosives in enemy territory to destroy their equipment and facilities, making her an indispensable and powerful female member of the team!
This Jun the Swan G-3 action figure is crafted in her transformed appearance, meticulously sculpting Jun's facial features and using paintwork to showcase her rosy cheeks and bright eyes, giving her an overall light and beautiful look! The costume faithfully recreates her iconic mini-skirt, and includes additional skirt replacement parts to significantly reduce the impact of the design on articulation. The cape also comes with three interchangeable parts, allowing collectors to pose her in their desired stances. And of course, Jun's signature weapon – the yo-yo – is included, with interchangeable parts to let her strike close-combat poses, just like her yo-yo attacks in the show!
